The Sacramento Kings have had Buddy Hield in NBA trade rumors since the offseason. He has been the team’s biggest trade piece for over a year now but is still in Sacramento. The New York Knicks are a team that could be looking for a star and some three-point shooting. Hield would certainly help in the second half of the season.
The Knicks have ben one of he surprises in the first half of the season. They are currently 19-18 and in fifth place in the Eastern Conference. Tom Thibodeau has made an immediate impact in his first season with the Knicks. They are allowing the least amount of points per game in the league and this is the reason they are winning some games.
Julius Randle has also been a huge factor. He earned an NBA All-Star nod this season because of his double-double average. New York could use that next-level star to take them up a notch in the East.
Buddy Hield could be that player. The Kings have fallen behind in the Western Conference and are not a win-now team. This means they could be sellers at the NBA trade deadline. Hield is at the top of that list if Sacramento decides to make some moves. He is averaging 16.4 points per game while shooting 37.8% from the three-point line.
Sacramento has entered the rebuilding phase and it will be done around De’Aaron Fox. This means a player like Hield could be sent away for a return.
The Knicks have some assets they would be able to send Sacramento. Here is what a trade might look like to land Buddy Hield in the Big Apple this season.
