3 trade scenarios for Andrew Wiggins the Warriors should consider

With no Klay Thompson, this year’s Warriors team is exactly what everyone expected it to be — unpredictable. Steph Curry is a legitimate NBA MVP candidate this season and has carried Golden State to this point in the season.

Offensively, the Warriors have struggled at times this year, but defensively, they have found a lot of success. Golden State currently ranks 6th in the league in defensive efficiency, but in today’s NBA, you need to be able to score, especially since the league average in points per game this year is nearing an all-time high.

Newcomers like Andrew Wiggins and Kelly Oubre Jr. will have to continue to step up and continue contributing at a high-level in order for this Warriors team to reach its full potential, but outside of Steph Curry this season, it is hard to point to a guy on this roster and feel comfortable with them having the ball in their hands.

Wiggins and Oubre Jr. have had their moments this season being very reliable offensive threats, but at other times, they can tend to struggle, leaving Curry as the only option for the Warriors on offense.

With Draymond Green not being much of a scoring threat and both James Wiseman and Kevon Looney both still trying to get back to full speed after returning from injuries, Golden State could really use an extra spark of offensive production to solidify themselves as a playoff team in the Western Conference.

As a result, the Warriors are a team that is expected to be aggressive at the trade deadline this year and could be willing to move on from some of their better talents not named Stephen Curry or Draymond Green in order to make the playoff push they are capable of making this season without Klay Thompson.

Andrew Wiggins has been said to be a part of the Warriors’ long-term plans and they do not have an immediate interest in trading him, but if the right offer comes their way, it could be hard for this organization to keep the 25-year old wing. As a result, let’s take a look at three trade scenarios involving Andrew Wiggins that the Warriors should consider at the trade deadline this season.
