Why This Trade Would Benefit The Boston Celtics
The Boston Celtics were here the Eastern Conference Finals a year ago but were dominated down low by Bam Adebayo and the Miami Heat. It was surprising to see the team not make many improvements to that unit but they could certainly do so at the deadline. Boston is extremely thin outside of their dynamic duo and need this to improve come playoff time.
Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum are strong offensive players but do not do much else to make the Celtics better. Aldridge is one of those players that can act as a leader on and off the floor.
Aldridge has been apart of many good teams during his time in the league and he’s looking to win a championship before he retires. Right now, the Spurs are not that we now team that is going to help Aldridge. He would fit into the scheme well in Boston and have a chance to play under Brad Stevens, who is one of the top coaches in the league.

This is a deal that would immediately benefit both Aldridge and the Celtics. Because of his current contract situation, Aldridge will not be too expensive here, which is another reason that Danny Ainge could go all in on this deal.
