Not only is he one of the best defensive big men in the NBA, but he is a player with a reasonable contract to deal. Indiana Pacers center Myles Turner has been at the top of the list of the league’s best defensive big men for the last several seasons and so far this season, he looks like one of the clear-cut favorites to win the Defensive Player of the Year Award. Could he end up being traded to the Toronto Raptors?

The Pacers love what they have in their big man and currently have not been involved in any trade discussions revolving around Turner, but there are plenty of teams that have expressed interest in the defensive standout. For years now, Turner has been involved in a ton of NBA trade rumors and this past offseason, neither the young center or the Pacers gave us a glimpse into what the future may hold for him.

Not only is Turner under-utilized on the offensive end of the court in Indiana, but he has always been overshadowed by other high-level offensive talents. This season, Turner ranks fifth on the team in scoring, and with Victor Oladipo gone, TJ Warren injured, and Caris LeVert sidelined indefinitely, it was expected Turner’s overall production would increase, but it has not.

With him being owed just $52.5 million over the next three years, the 24-year-old center is a very affordable option for many championship caliber teams and could help any team in the league on the defensive-end of the court.

The Raptors have been searching for answers with their front-court this year as losing Serge Ibaka and Marc Gasol in free agency has really hurt them. Chirs Boucher has stepped up into a bigger role, but overall, this team really needs a reliable center if they are to be a real threat in the playoffs, which is why Turner should be a top trade target for them.

Could the Raptors look to pursue a trade with the Pacers for Myles Turner at the trade deadline this year? Let’s take a look at what this trade could potentially look like.
