Why This Trade Would Benefit The New York Knicks

The New York Knicks finally put together a capable roster of competing for an NBA championship and adding an experienced shooting guard would help them accomplish that feat. The Knicks currently sit in fifth place in the Eastern Conference, but they’re only 5.5 games from being in first place.

The Knicks have a stout lineup this season and it could get even better with the addition of Victor Oladipo. The Knicks would have to give up some solid pieces off their bench in Alec Burks and Kevin Knox II, but it would be worth it to compete for a title.

Are the Knicks likely going to win an NBA championship this year, no. That shouldn’t stop them from trying to make a strong shot at representing the East in the Finals, however.

Getting to the NBA Finals, or being rather close, could make the New York Knicks a top tier free agent talent market and that would help them in the long haul.
