The Houston Rockets acquired shooting guard Victor Oladipo earlier this season in the NBA blockbuster trade that was headlined by James Harden being dealt to the Brooklyn Nets, but Houston may not be Oladipo’s last stop this season.
The Rockets are the second worst team in terms of win-loss record and there is quite frankly no point in retaining a star player who wants to play elsewhere. The Rockets would be far more wise to deal Victor Oladipo at the nearing NBA trade deadline and acquire something in return for him.
Houston is going to be rebuilding this upcoming offseason, there’s no doubt about it, but they could get a head start by dealing away Victor Oladipo. He’s playing on an expiring contract and it’s far from a guarantee that he will decide to return.

Oladipo, this season, is averaging 20 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 4.5 assists for the Rockets. It sounds increasingly as though he has his sights dead set on the Miami Heat this offseason, but he could be a great asset to help a contending New York Knicks team.
