Bulls named a potential trade destination for Kristaps Porzingis

The Chicago Bulls are a team that could be looking to make a major impact trade ahead of the NBA trade deadline. While there have been quite a few rumors surrounding the Bulls, no star players have been connected to them yet. Could Dallas Mavericks star big man Kristaps Porzingis be a potential target?

If the Bulls do look to make a big-time trade to improve their roster, they will be looking for a player who can fit long-term alongside Zach LaVine. Porzingis is certainly a player that could fill that role.

So far this season with the Mavericks, Porzingis has averaged 20.2 points per game to go along with 8.4 rebounds, 1.6 blocks, and 1.4 assists. He has shot 46.9 percent from the floor overall and has knocked down 34.9 percent of his three-point attempts.

Those numbers would look great for the Bulls. Chicago would likely have to give up Lauri Markkanen or Wendell Carter Jr. as the starting piece to the trade package. Trading either one of those guys would be worth it to acquire a talent like Porzingis.

While Porzingis has not been connected to the Bulls in legitimate rumors quite yet, The Big Lead certainly thinks he would be a good fit in Chicago.

More than likely, any trade package would also include Otto Porter Jr. heading back to the Mavericks to help with salary purposes. That would not be anything to blink at for the Bulls either.

Billy Donovan and company are currently just outside of the playoff picture with a 16-18 record. That is good enough for the No. 9 seed in the Eastern Conference. They are just two games back of the No. 4 seeded Boston Celtics though.

In a very tight conference, the Bulls could absolutely be aggressive. They are not too far off and a duo of Kristaps Porzingis and Zach LaVine would make them a borderline contender. The move would also give them something impressive to build around for years to come.

Expect to hear the Bulls mentioned in quite a few rumors as the deadline draws near. Porzingis may not end up being a target, but it is certainly an intriguing possibility to think about.
