Why This Trade Makes Sense For The Chicago Bulls

The Chicago Bulls are currently on the outside of the Eastern Conference playoff picture but are still very much in the conversation for the playoffs this year. With 7 guys averaging double-digit scoring this season, the Bulls have turned themselves into a very solid offense team and are not a terrible rebounding team either, as they currently rank 15th in the league.

Andre Drummond is not just a double-double machine, but he is a guy that can provide a lot of stability to the Bulls offense. He is great at providing second-chance opportunities offensively and defensively, and is more than capable of keeping his opponents out of the paint.

With Lauri Markkanen missing a significant portion of time this year, the Bulls frontcourt has been really thin with just Wendell Carter Jr. and Thaddeus Young, which is another reason why adding Drummond makes sense.

Thad Young has been involved in a lot of trade rumors recently and if the Bulls do decide to move him, then they will be left with an even bigger hole to fill in either frontcourt. Adding Drummond to their roster solves a lot of this team’s problems in terms of depth and gives them a reliable, All-Star caliber talent next to Zach LaVine.

Trading for Drummond does not provide the Bulls with a championship-caliber roster, but it does give them a very reliable and strong center. Not to mention, Drummond is only 27-years old and still has plenty of years left in him in the NBA.

The Bulls are definitely an under-the-radar team targeting Andre Drummond, but going after him could make a lot more sense than it may appear.
