The Sacramento Kings are going to be a team that could look to sell ahead of the NBA trade deadline. Names like Buddy Hield, Marvin Bagley III, and others could be available for the right price. It hasn’t been a great season for the Kings and a re-tooling process may need to get started.

According to a report from The Athletic, the Kings are looking to trade Bagley ahead of the NBA trade deadline.

Bagley was the No. 2 overall pick in the 2018 NBA Draft. He was expected to become a legitimate superstar with the Kings. That has not been the case, but he has not been a “bad” player either.

At 21 years of age, there is no question that Bagley still has time to turn things around. He has shown signs of development over the last couple of years. However, it has not been enough to convince the Kings that they should commit to him long-term.

So far this season in 34 games with Sacramento, Bagley has averaged 14.1 points per game to go along with 7.6 rebounds. He has shot 50 percent from the floor overall and has knocked down 37 percent of his three-point shots.

There is no telling what the Kings would ask for in return for Bagley. No one would be willing to give up a huge price for him, since he has yet to prove that he can develop into a star. But, Sacramento could still get a late first-round pick from a contender.

It will be interesting to see what kind of trade market opens up for Marvin Bagley III. He is the kind of stretch forward that could help a contender.

Expect to hear more about this situation in the coming days and weeks. The Kings are open for business and Bagley could very well be on the move soon.
