Why This Trade Makes Sense For The Chicago Bulls

Zach LaVine is the only legit offensive threat on the Chicago Bulls and while they have some other young players in Coby White, Lauri Markkenen and Wendell Carter Jr. who have shown a lot of promise, they are still growing as young players.

Adding an experienced sharpshooter on the wing like Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, as well as a young talent like Talen Horton-Tucker could give the Bulls a really strong core to move forward with. The best thing Chicago can do is to look and get Zach LaVine more help, which is exactly why this trade makes sense.

KCP and THT are not going to immediately join the Bulls and be extremely efficient and productive players, but they can play their roles perfectly and provide more scoring depth for a team that currently ranks 8th in the league in scoring.

With Thaddeus Young being 32-years old and not presenting much of a future in Chicago other than being a steady veteran presence, it makes a ton of sense for the Bulls to sell high and get a ton of value for their veteran forward. Thad Young has been great off-the-bench for them this season and has stepped up with Lauri Markkanen being out, but the Bulls need to continue building their young core and get them as much experience and playing time with Zach LaVine as possible.

This organization is not far off from being a legit playoff team in the Eastern Conference, but they are going to need to find more reliable talent to put around Zach LaVine because he cannot carry this team on his own.

ACquiring Kentavious Caldwell-Pope and Talen Horton-Tucker is a big step in the right direction for the Bulls and gives them more potential to grow into something special in the future.
