The best trade Mavericks can offer Pelicans for JJ Redick

So far this season, the Dallas Mavericks have been a very streaky team, but that is because they really only rely on one player to make plays for them. Luka Doncic is a sensational talent and at just 21-years old, he is already one of the faces of the NBA.

Not only is he a legit MVP candidate this season, but he has single-handedly led this Mavericks team to an above .500 record near the half-way point in the season. Even though they have played well as of late, the Mavericks are still on the outside of the Western Conference playoff picture looking in.

There is plenty of basketball yet to be played, but if this Mavericks team is going to live up to their preseason hype and be a “dark-horse” playoff team in the West, then they are going to have to be willing to make a somewhat big move at the NBA trade deadline. While they could go after another All-Star talent to pair with Luka Doncic and Kristaps Porzingis, it seems likely that Dallas will look to target some key, experienced role players.

Last season, Dallas was a fantastic three-point shooting team, as they ranked 10th in the league in three-point shooting percentage during the regular season, but this year, they have struggled from deep and rank 22nd in the league in three-point shooting this year. The Mavericks will definitely look to add a perimeter threat at the NBA trade deadline, which is why JJ Redick could be a real possible trade target for them and has already been linked in recent NBA trade rumors.

The 36-year old guard is nearing the end of what has been an amazing career shooting the basketball, but he can still contribute 20-25 minutes per night. For a team that does not have many perimeter weapons and needs more depth on the wing, JJ Redick could fit right in with Dallas, which is why they could pursue him within the coming weeks.

So who can the Mavericks offer up in attempts to acquire the veteran sharpshooter? Let’s take a look at the best trade the Dallas Mavericks can offer the New Orleans Pelicans for J.J. Redick.
