What the New York Knicks are accomplishing this season is being noticed around the league. Teams know that playing against the orange and blue is not a cakewalk as it had become in recent seasons.

The Knicks are currently in the thick of the playoff race in the Eastern Conference with a record of 18-18. Things are tightly packed in the Eastern Conference, as the fourth-seeded team is as close to the No. 1 seed Philadelphia 76ers as they are to the No. 14 seed Orlando Magic.

What Tom Thibodeau has been able to accomplish in his first year on the job has been remarkable. He and his staff helped develop Julius Randle into an All-Star. RJ Barrett is coming along as well. Everyone is buying in and performing in the roles they are assigned.

While this season has been a fun one for the team, they know there is still plenty of work to be done. Thibodeau is getting the most out of a roster lacking in the talent department at a few spots. However, that could change in the coming months.

On Brian Windhorst and The Hoop Collective podcast, the Knicks were a topic of discussion this week. Windhorst made a bold prediction, as he believes an All-Star player will demand a trade to the Knicks within the next year.

Fans have seen this before. Insiders say that there are All-Stars that want to play for the Knicks. Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving, in 2019, were the latest example. Then, those stars don’t come to the Big Apple and the fans and organization are mocked.

While that has been the case, this does feel different. The Knicks are playing their best basketball in the last eight years and have a foundation in place for future success. That is what players around the league want to see from a team, not just worry about the location as social media gives even the smallest market stars a good reach.

Which stars could be in play? That is anyone’s guess. Bradley Beal is reportedly being pushed to request a trade by William Wesley, better known as World Wide Wes, who is part of the Knicks’ front office. Could Karl-Anthony Towns, who played for Thibodeau with the Minnesota Timberwolves, be the All-Star Windhorst referred to?

Whoever it is, for the first time in a long time, the organization feels to be in good hands with Leon Rose and company running the show.
