Why The Trade Benefits The Bulls
The Bulls are in a rebuilding phase and could just look to add some good players. Kyle Lowry is showing that he is still effective on both ends of the floor. He is shooting 39.5 percent from three-point range and scoring at a high rate.
If the Bulls decide to add him, there could be some immediate benefits.
It begins with the fact that Lowry is a veteran player and has been good for a long time. On a team full of younger players, he would be a good leader on and off the floor. With just one year left on his deal, the Bulls would be able to re-negotiate another contract at a much lower price. That will be the key.
If Lowry is looking for another lucrative deal, it would not be worth it. At 34 years old, Lowry cannot expect another contract that will pay him upwards of $30 million a year. He would be a bargain option for the Bulls and that could give them a bit of a big three along with LaVine and Markannen.
Chicago is looking to get back to relevance and they could accomplish that goal quickly if they added another star. This would be a shock to see happen, but anything is possible at the deadline.
