Boston Celtics

The Boston Celtics are arguably the most disappointing team in the NBA thus far this season. They are currently 17-17, tied for the fifth-best record in the conference with the Miami Heat and Toronto Raptors.

Injuries have been a big reason for the Celtics’ struggles, as Kemba Walker missed the start of the season recovering from an offseason knee operation and Marcus Smart is currently sidelined with a calf strain. General manager Danny Ainge has taken responsibility for the team’s shortcomings, saying he is the one who put together the roster.

Ainge even went as far as to say this Celtics team isn’t one that can compete for the Eastern Conference title. If that is the case, Ainge has to start working the phones and bring in some reinforcements.

The Celtics were in the Eastern Conference Finals against the Heat in the Orlando Bubble. They have two All-Stars in Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum. Despite an anonymous player lambasting the All-Star duo, this is a team that should be performing better than they are.

Of all the teams in the NBA, the Celtics are the ones who need to make a move prior to the deadline. Given their foundation, they are not far off from being contenders once again.
