New Orleans Pelicans

The New Orleans Pelicans have their foundation in place with Brandon Ingram and Zion Williamson. They are both All-Star caliber players coming into their own with sky-high ceilings. What New Orleans has to figure out is who they want to be a part of the group around them going forward.

The Pelicans are 2.5 games out of a playoff spot in the Western Conference. There is plenty of enough time for them to make up ground, but the roster could look different as they attempt to do so.

Lonzo Ball is about to enter restricted free agency. If they don’t believe he is part of their long-term plan, they could look to acquire some assets for him. Josh Hart also didn’t agree to an extension and if the Pelicans don’t want to pay him, is another player that could be shopped.

Veteran shooting guard, J.J. Redick, is who a lot of people will have their eyes on from the Pelicans. While Redick is struggling to knock down jumpers this season, he is a proven sniper that any contending team would love to have to help spread the floor. A team such as the New York Knicks would love to add his shooting touch to their lineup.

The Pelicans don’t have much cap space going forward, so this could be their best shot to add assets to help build around Ingram and Williamson for the next season or two.
