Why this trade makes sense for the New Orleans Pelicans:
Brandon Ingram and Zion Williamson have been fantastic for the Pelicans this season, but outside of them, there is really not much talent on this team. Lonzo Ball has stepped up into a bigger role and has been great and Eric Bledsoe has been solid at times, but there are no other pure scorers or offensive threats on this team.
As a result, even if they were to somehow sneak into the playoffs this year, they would likely face the Jazz or Lakers in the first-round and quickly be beaten in a seven-game series. For this reason alone is why this trade could make a ton of sense for them.
As mentioned before, Lonzo Ball is in the final year of his contract and with this team not having a ton of stability in terms of roster depth or overall playmakers, Spencer Dinwiddie could be a great player for them to target. He was fantastic last year with Durant and Irving out in Brooklyn and next to Zion and Ingram, Dinwiddie could be the third scoring option they need to be able to contend in the West.

Trading Redick does not really impact the Pelicans much, especially since they have some youthful players they could utilize in his absence. Nickeil Alexander-Walker and Kira Lewis Jr. are two young players with a lot of potential on the Pelicans roster and with Redick gone, they could have opportunities to continue to grow as players.
These two guys, along with Ingram and Williamson are the future of New Orleans right now, which is why they should do everything they can to continue adding talent for future years. The Pels are not in a position to contend for a title right now, which is why adding Dinwiddie makes a ton of sense for them.
