Here’s how the 76ers could trade for Kyle Lowry

Kyle Lowry has been one of the hottest names in the NBA trade rumor mill over the last couple of weeks and the Toronto Raptors could actually move him ahead of the trade deadline. One team that has been mentioned the most in regards to Lowry is the Philadelphia 76ers, who are rumored to be searching to upgrade their point guard position.

Reports have surfaced that the Raptors would like to “reward” Lowry for everything he has done for the franchise with a trade to a contender.

At this point in time, the 76ers are one of the best teams in the league. Many believe they will end up representing the Eastern Conference in the NBA Finals. Joel Embiid is also one of the front-runners to win the NBA MVP award.

Needless to say, a lot of good things are going on for the 76ers right now. However, if they truly want to win a championship this season, they could use more help. That is where a trade for Lowry would come into play.

So far this season with the Raptors in 27 games, Lowry has averaged 18 points per game to go along with 6.6 assists and 5.7 rebounds. He has shot 46.6 percent from the floor overall and knocked down 40.5 percent of his three-point attempts.

Those numbers show why the 76ers should look to bring Kyle Lowry in.

Acquiring a talent like Lowry would give the 76ers more scoring, more shooting, and more veteran leadership. He would give Ben Simmons a chance to play more off the ball, and would be a deadly spot-up shooter when Simmons is handling the ball.

A “Big Three” of Simmons, Embiid, and Lowry would be tough to beat. But, pulling off a trade for Lowry could be tough.

Here is how the 76ers could get the trade with the Raptors done.

Philadelphia 76ers Receive: G Kyle Lowry, TOR 2023 2nd Round Pick, TOR 2025 2nd Round Pick

Toronto Raptors Receive: G Danny Green, G Seth Curry, F Mike Scott, PHI 2021 1st Round Pick, PHI 2023 1st Round Pick

In this trade, the 76ers would be giving up quite a bit of depth in Green, Curry, and Scott. Two first-round picks would also be included in this deal. As steep as that price is, being able to bring Lowry and two second-round picks in makes it worth the cost.

Darryl Morey needs to make a decision. Does he want to go all-in on a title or does he want to be just good enough to come close? If the 76ers decide that they want to win now, Lowry is a good choice.

Expect to continue hearing rumors surrounding the Raptors, 76ers, and Kyle Lowry leading up to the NBA trade deadline. It isn’t a guarantee that something will get done, but there are plenty of ways for these two teams to come together on a deal should they choose to do so.
