OKC Thunder
OKC Thunder Receive: G Spencer Dinwiddie, IND 2021 2nd Round Pick (Protected 45-60)
Brooklyn Nets Receive: G George Hill, C Mike Muscala
The OKC Thunder are a team that many believed would be near the bottom of the standings last year and ultimately, led by Chris Paul, made the NBA Playoffs as the 5-seed in the Western Conference. This year, many picked the Thunder again to finish at the bottom of the standings and they are currently still very much alive in the playoff race near the half-way point in the season.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Luguentz Dort and Darius Bazley are a few of the many young players on this roster that have really elevated their play and with the plethora of draft picks the Thunder have through 2027, this organization is set up for a ton of success and could be the best team in basketball in just a few years.
Right now though, Sam Presti and this front-office are more than willing to trade any of the Thunder’s veteran players for future impact players or draft picks, which is why they could be interested in Spencer Dinwiddie. Not only can he come off-the-bench and be Shai Gilgeous-Alexander’s back-up, but Dinwiddie, when he is healthy, can be a legit Sixth-Man of the Year candidate.
He could be an excellent veteran guard for the Thunder to add to their younger team and he could ultimately help be a leader for this team to aid them in their playoff pursuit moving forward. For the Nets, getting George Hill and Mike Muscala would be two huge additions because both players can make a huge difference off-the-bench.
Over the years, George Hill has played with LeBron James and Giannis Antetokounmpo a part of numerous championship caliber teams. He knows what it is like to be hunting for a championship and after leading the league in three-point shooting percentage last year, he could be a big “spark” off-the-bench for the Nets.

Mike Muscala could also positively impact the Nets because of their lack of frontcourt depth. Outside of DeAndre Jordan, this team does not really have a big man and normally plays “small” with Jeff Green as the center in some rotations. Having Muscala not only gives them another big body who can rebound, but someone who can step out on the perimeter and knock down a shot. He is shooting 36.6% from deep this season and could bolster the Nets’ overall perimeter play.
This is definitely one of the better moves the Nets could make in their hunt for a championship this year, the only question is whether or not the Thunder are interested in Spencer Dinwiddie. If they are, then they should have no problem trading either George Hill or Mike Muscala.
