Why This Trade Would Benefit The Charlotte Hornets

The Charlotte Hornets are not a win-now team in the Eastern Conference. Right now, they are 15-16 and fighting for an eight seed heading toward the all-star break. Even if the Hornets sneak their way into the postseason, they would not have a chance come the first round.

With that being said, there is some excitement about being a postseason team, especially after years of being down.

The emergence of Ball could lead to some radical changes to the lineup. Both Rozier and Graham would be replaced right away. Holiday and Rozier are in similar contract situations in terms of years. Putting a veteran presence like Holiday in the backcourt would benefit Ball. He would be able to play off the ball and would have a mentor on the roster.

DiVincenzo is a strong defensive player and is beginning to turn his game up a notch offensively as well. At 24-years old, DiVincenzo would be a big help to a rebuilding team like Charlotte.

Once Ball was drafted, the Hornets became one of the most interesting teams in the league. There were many eyes on the team and that could continue if they are aggressive at the deadline.
