Why This Trade Would Benefit The Cleveland Cavaliers
The Cleveland Cavaliers have been a rebuilding franchise since LeBron James left for Los Angeles. Collin Sexton is looking like a star and will be their franchise player. Garland was supposed to be his backcourt mate of the future but that could change if Cleveland is offered a player like Porzingis.
Andre Drummond and Kevin Love have dominated trade rumors coming out of Cleveland because of their age and contract situation. The Cavaliers are rebuilding which means they are interested in getting younger and gaining some more assets to put around Sexton.
Kristaps Porzingis could accomplish both. He is a big man with plenty of years left if he’s able to stay healthy. Porzingis is an athlete who can run the floor and has a smooth looking jumpshot at 7-foot-3. The duo with Collin Sexton and Porzingis would be able to do great things on the offensive end of the floor.

This is something to get excited about if you are Cleveland, especially if Andre Drummond is going to be dealt anyway. It will be interesting to see if the front office would part ways with Darius Garland.
