2. Knicks Finish In The Top Half Of League In Offensive Efficiency
It is no secret that the Knicks need some more players capable of spacing the floor to open things up. However, despite their inconsistencies there, they have shown they are capable of playing efficiently on offense.
If New York finds a taker for Elfrid Payton and turns to Derrick Rose in the starting five, they will finish the top half of the NBA in offensive efficiency. Yes, their 140 point performance came against the free-falling, defensively challenged Sacramento Kings, but New York was clicking so well it didn’t look like many teams would be able to slow them down.
Shooting is their Achilles heel, but they have multiple players that are capable shooters. Alec Burks, Julius Randle, Immanuel Quickley and Reggie Bullock are all shooting at least 36.9 percent from the 3-point line.
If Leon Rose can land one or two shooters, this offense will reach new heights. Julius Randle is trusting his teammates, they just need to make the most of the opportunities presented to them. They are trending in the right direction and as they continue building chemistry, their offensive rating will continue climbing the ranks.
