This Knicks-Rockets trade features Eric Gordon to New York

Why This Trade Would Benefit The New York Knicks

New York is improved this season and it begins on the defensive end. Tom Thibodeau has the team playing well on that end of the floor and leading the league allowing just 103.6 points per game. On the other hand, the offense has struggled and this is why the team remains mediocre.

The Knicks have a nice mix of young guns in their lineup. RJ Barrett and Immanuel Quickley are coming into their own but remain inconsistent. This is something that can be fixed as they mature in the league.

New York will have a decision to make with Randle since he is in the second of a three-year deal he signed last offseason. If they choose to keep him, it would make sense to add some more three-point threats to the rotation. Gordon is more than just that. He is a talented scorer and has been for many years.

Many around the league are waiting to see if the Knicks finally pull the trigger on a blockbuster deal. They have not had a star presence since the days of Carmelo Anthony and can use one if they want to compete in the Eastern Conference. This deal will not land them one, but it would help their success right away.
