Portland Trail Blazers
Portland Trail Blazers Receive: C Andre Drummond, SAS 2022 2nd Round Pick (via CLE)
San Antonio Spurs Receive: C Jusef Nurkic, G Rodney Hood, POR 2023 1st Round Pick, POR 2025 1st Round Pick
In this trade scenario, both Nurkic and Hood would probably be going to another team since the Cavaliers do not want another frontcourt player and they could probably get another draft pick from a different team for both of these players.
However, getting two first-round picks for Andre Drummond is exactly what the Cavaliers would want, especially since they acquired him last NBA trade deadline for virtually nothing. With the emergence of Jarrett Allen, we know Drummond will be on the move at this trade deadline, the only question is where will he end up? The NBA trade rumors centered around Drummond have toned down since last week but he remains a name to watch.
Portland would be a very ideal landing spot for the former All-Star center because of their immediate need for an impactful frontcourt player. With Nukic out with a broken wrist and Zach Collins presumably out for the year, the addition of Drummond would be huge for the Trail Blazers and help solidify them as a championship contender out west.
The Trail Blazers currently ranks 12th in the NBA in rebounding and are dead-last in points in the paint this season. The addition of Drummond in the frontcourt would definitely make Portland’s all-around offense better, but it would also give them that third reliable option they need.
Carmelo Anthony has stepped up in that role for the Trail Blazers at times, but this late in his career, he is not the “security blanket” he once was and is nothing more than a role player at this point. With the talent the Blazers have on their roster and with the possible addition of Andre Drummond, there is no reason why this team would not be in title contention.

The departure of Rodney Hood definitely hurts the Trail Blazers shooting depth, but it would give Anfernee Simons more minutes and chances to produce, which he has done quite well with CJ McCollum being out. Giving their young talent more chances to prove themselves could be exactly what this team needs.
Ultimately, getting Andre Drummond would be the best move the Portland Trail Blazers could make at the NBA trade deadline. He has no concerns about him and could give Portland a double-double every night, which is exactly what they need from their center seeing as they have one of the best pure scorers in the NBA in Damian Lillard.
