Why This Trade Would Benefits The Boston Celtics

Since leaving Oklahoma City, Russell Westbrook has not been able to find a home. He is a winning player with a tough mindset that would help any contending team right away. This is not to say that the Celtics would immediately become championship favorites, but their roster would be improved the minute they made this deal.

Right now, the Celtics lack depth and only has two real scoring threats on the offensive end. They struggle at the point guard position and this is one of the reasons they signed Kemba Walker initially. The fit has just not worked to this point. Walker has missed some time with injury and has been unable to be the player he once was in a lineup.

Russell Westbrook is a player they can succeed anywhere. He is a dynamic athlete and one of the best passers in the game. His energy and spark would immediately take the Celtics to the next level.
