Charlotte Hornets

After executing a sign-and-trade for Gordon Hayward in the offseason and after drafting LaMelo Ball third overall, the Hornets have surprisingly been a really good basketball team to this point in the season. They are currently 15-16 and coming off a big win the other night over the Phoenix Suns.

This Hornets team just plays so well together and while they are not that deep of a team, only playing about 8-9 guys in their rotations, they all play so well together and seem to feed off one another’s energy. The only problem with this team is that outside of Gordon Hayward, they are very young and inexperienced when it comes to making a playoff push.

PJ Tucker could be a great veteran presence in this locker room and he knows a thing or two about competing in the playoffs. Tucker has been a part of three straight deep playoff runs made by the Houston Rockets and the Hornets could really utilize a player that has the experience that he does.

Not to mention, the Hornets have virtually no depth in their frontcourt behind P.J. Washington and Cody Zeller, making Tucker a valuable 20-25 minutes per night player they could utilize in their second-unit.

P.J. Tucker is the ultimate “glue guy” in the NBA today and while he may not make much of an impact statistically, he does all the little things to help his team win games. With a young, hungry and athletic team like the Hornets, Tucker could really thrive being an anchor defensively for them and helping them in terms of experience in this league.

The veteran forward knows what it takes to win games and for a young team like the Hornets, having these types of veterans is extremely important to their future success. With P.J. Tucker on their roster, the Hornets would have a very strong chance at making the playoffs in the Eastern Conference.
