Kyle Lowry – Toronto Raptors

Not only is Kyle Lowry from Philadelphia, but there have been numerous NBA trade rumors surfacing about him wanting to go back to his hometown and play for the 76ers. With him being owed $30M in the final year of his contract, it would be hard for the Sixers to put together a trade package to acquire him while keeping their three superstars, but it is possible.

Both Danny Green and Seth Curry would have to be on the move, as well as some other role players in Mike Scott, Shake Milton and/or Furkan Korkmaz. Giving up a lot of their role players and bench to create what would be the most deadly starting five in the league could be worth it for the 76ers, but everything goes back to the Toronto Raptors and their willingness to trade Kyle Lowry.

He has been their leader and the face of their franchise for many years now and was a key part of their 2019 NBA Championship team. Kyle Lowry is and has been a huge part of the Toronto Raptors organization for years now, which is why it would be hard for them to let him go.

At the end of the day though, he is in the final year of his contract and will be turning 35-years old this season, which is why trading Lowry could be in the future plans of the Toronto Raptors. If they do make Lowry available at this year’s trade deadline, then the 76ers are absolutely going to be the favorites to trade for him because of all the connections and ties they have to him.

President of Basketball Ops Daryl Morey has always liked Kyle Lowry and the two seem to have a pretty decent relationship, which could be another tie-in for Lowry to be traded to the 76ers. Ultimately, if the Sixers were to make this move, they would definitely be the team to beat in the Eastern Conference and it would give them their best chance at winning a title this season.

The Philadelphia 76ers championship window is very small, especially with all of the talent of other teams in the Eastern and Western Conference, which is why they should do everything they can to capitalize on their opportunity. Making this trade does so and allows the 76ers to truly contend for a championship this year.
