Loser: Devin Booker

Devin Booker is arguably the least appreciated player in the NBA and this will be the second consecutive year he will not only be snubbed from the initial All-Star list, but the second year in a row that he will likely be named a replacement for the All-Star game.

Last year, Devin Booker replaced Damian Lillard who was injured and this year, with Anthony Davis being out with a calf injury, there is a high probability that he will once again be a replacement All-Star. That just sounds wrong and almost downplays the fact that Booker will be an All-Star. It is sort of like the NBA saying he was not “good enough” to be an All-Star the first time, but “we guess you can participate in the reindeer games Rudolph.”

Not only is Devin Booker one of the best offensive players in the NBA, but he is the best player on his team and Chris Paul, his teammate got voted in over him! No disrespect to the future Hall-of-Famer Chris Paul, but if you ask him, he would probably agree and want Booker in the All-Star game over him!

It just makes no sense why Devin Booker is being left off the All-Star roster once again and quite honestly, goes to show that the NBA does not allow enough players in the All-Star game. Instead of 12 players, they should allow 13 players from each conference into the All-Star game with the 13th player being voted in by the fans from the guys that have been “snubbed” from the roster.

This is just an idea, but nonetheless, they need to change the rules to add more talent to these teams because it is not right for guys like Devin Booker, who play like an All-Star all year long and have better numbers than some of the guys that were voted in to be left off the final roster.

Devin Booker ended up being Anthony Davis’ replacement in the NBA All-Star Game but that
