Does This Trade Make Sense For The Chicago Bulls?

While they have struggled over the years and this trade would give the Bulls plenty of assets to be able to succeed moving forward, they could still be a playoff team this year with Zach LaVine leading this team. Chicago is currently the 8-seed in the Eastern Conference right now if the playoffs were to start today and they have plenty of young talent on their roster already that is the future of this organization.

Guys like Coby White, Lauri Markkenen, Wendell Carter Jr. and rookie Patrick Williams all possess a lot of potential moving forward and could build a strong core with Zach LaVine being the superstar talent on this team. Everything is in place for the Bulls to have a lot of success moving forward, as long as their front-office does not screw things up.

Trading away Zach LaVine would be detrimental to this organization, even with all of the assets they would be receiving in return because of how big of a role he has on this team. This season, he accounts for about 25% of their scoring every single game and his usage rate is 31%, which is the highest on the team by nearly 9%.

Everything flows through LaVine and everything revolves around LaVine for the Bulls, which is why trading him takes them out of playoff contention this year and would set them back a couple years in terms of being a threat in the Eastern Conference.

This is a great trade package for them, don’t get me wrong, but it definitely sets them back in terms of where they are in their rebuilding process. They are about a year away from being a definite playoff team, which is why the Chicago Bulls’ front-office personnel should just hang back, put their feet up on the desk and watch this team grow into something special.
