3 trade targets Boston Celtics must consider to turn things around

It seems like this NBA season, the Boston Celtics have never been fully healthy. First, Kemba Walker was out to begin the year after rehabbing from an offseason knee procedure, and then numerous players, including Jayson Tatum were out due to health and safety protocols. Then Jaylen Brown was banged up and now Marcus Smart has been out due to a calf strain.

We have not seen the Boston Celtics at full strength for what seems like forever now and as a result, this could hinder their chances of making it to the NBA Finals. That and the fact that outside of Kemba Walker, Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown, this team has virtually no reliable talents.

Boston’s bench currently ranks 27th in the league in scoring and their bench has been a problem for years now. The Celtics could look to add another All-Star talent to their team, but unless they also add some bench depth, then this team will likely come up short of their ultimate goal of making the NBA Finals once again.

After starting the year 7-3, the Celtics are now 15-15 and have dropped 6 of their last 9 games. The downward spiral this team is trending in is not good at all and unless they make a significant move at this season’s trade deadline, this team could be heading towards a complete roster reconstruction.

The Celtics definitely have the superstar talent to be able to compete for a championship, but if they want to maximize their potential this year and win a championship, they will have to target one of these three players ahead of this year’s NBA trade deadline.
