3 trade scenarios for Victor Oladipo the Rockets could consider

The Houston Rockets are in a really weird spot as an organization because nobody in the NBA really knows what they are planning to do in terms of their current roster. Are they willing to part with veteran players and rebuild or is this team still looking to make a playoff push this year?

Houston is currently 11-18 and in 14th in the Western Conference and have a lot of problems to fix as an organization. The Rockets just released DeMarcus Cousins and no longer have James Harden after trading him to the Brooklyn Nets, so where do they go from here?

John Wall looks great in his first full season back since 2019, Christian Wood, wehn healthy, looks like one of the best free agent signings of this past offseason and Jae’Sean Tate has been putting together a really solid overall rookie season.

The front-office and management has made it clear that they want to get younger and continue the “Small-ball philosophy” which is one of the main reasons why they released DeMarcus Cousins. With Cousins gone and the Rockets looking to get younger, they could ultimately look to trade Victor Oladipo near the NBA trade deadline.

Oladipo came to Houston in the 4-team deal that sent James Harden to Brooklyn and when he has been on the court for the Rockets, he has been great. In 11 games with the Rockets, Oladipo is averaging 18.4 points, 4.8 rebounds, 4.9 assists and is shooting 38.6% from the floor.

The former All-Star guard still has a lot of trade interest around the league and he is in the final year of his contract, which could lead to the Rockets gauging interest for him around the NBA trade deadline. With that said let’s take a look at three trade scenarios the Rockets should consider involving Victor Oladipo.
