Los Angeles Clippers

It is no secret that the LA Clippers are shopping around. It is widely known that Lou Williams has been made available, and some within the front office would like to move on from Patrick Beverley as well. Acquiring Kyle Lowry would present an upgrade for LA.

Lowry would give the Clippers another tenacious defender, so they wouldn’t lose anything in the starting five with Beverley’s departure. He presents a better offensive option than Beverley as a playmaker and scorer as well and would take the pressure off of Kawhi Leonard and Paul George. Head coach Tyronn Lue is also fond of Lowry.

Financially, the numbers can be worked out pretty well, too. The Clippers can include both Williams and Beverley along with big men Ivica Zubca and Mfiondu Kabengele. Both can help fill the void up front, especially the 23-year old Zubac who is locked into a reasonable deal the next two seasons.

Adding Lowry to the roster would push the Clippers even closer to the Los Angeles Lakers and Brooklyn Nets in the pecking order for NBA Finals contenders. Some would argue he could even push them over the top given how well his skill set would mesh with the rest of the roster.
