Will Barton – Denver Nuggets

Through the years, Will Barton has been a really solid and consistent player for the Nuggets on the wing, but he has dealt with his fair share of injuries. When he is healthy, he is definitely an x-factor for the Nuggets and could be an impact player for the Knicks to add in their playoff push.

With Michael Porter Jr. missing a significant amount of time this year, Barton really stepped out onto the scene for the Nuggets and made a big difference for them on both ends of the court. He is currently averaging 11.6 points, 3.6 rebounds, 3.2 assists, 0.8 steals and is shooting 41.1% from three-point range this season.

Barton is kind of a “do-it-all” type of wing player and can really mold well into any system around the league. There is not one set thing Barton is good at as he is just a really solid role player who could become a key member of a playoff team.

While he has been overshadowed for years now by other talents on the Nuggets’ roster, Barton is finally starting to get the recognition he deserves and could be a player numerous teams target around the trade deadline. This will make in a name to watch in NBA trade rumors, in general.

The 30-year old wing has always been known to be a reliable three-point shooter, as he has averaged 35% from deep over the course of his career, but it is the improvements he has made on the defensive side of the ball that has made him a valuable asset.

Barton has been getting better and better on the defensive end of the court, which is what makes him an interesting trade target. “3-and-D” wings are hard to come by in today’s NBA, which is why the Nuggets could actually receive a lucrative trade package in exchange for Barton.

After just making the Western Conference Finals last season, it may not be in the best interest of the Nuggets to trade Barton, but his value is at an all-time high and numerous teams are reportedly interested in trading for him, the Knicks being one of them.

Acquiring Will Barton gives the Knicks a reliable starting wing and a player they could lean on to be their third best scoring option for the remainder of the year. This could be the best fit for Will Barton and the future of his career and he could supply the Knicks with everything they need out of a wing player to make the playoffs for the first time since 2013.
