Devonte’ Graham – Charlotte Hornets
We know the Knicks defense is really good, but they have struggled to score at times this year. New York ranks dead-last in the league in points per game (103.5 PPG), which is why they could use a dynamic scoring guard like Devonte’ Graham. Their backcourt is already flooded with players, but Graham is more than capable of playing off-the-ball and knocking down shots from the perimeter.
After having a breakout season last year, averaging nearly 18.2 points per game and shooting 37.3% from three-point range, Graham’s overall production has come back down a little, mainly because of the new weapons in Gordon Hayward and LaMelo Ball in Charlotte.
With Graham not playing as well as he did last year and the abundance of talent in the Hornets’ backcourt, the Knicks could potentially get Devonte’ Graham at a lower price than if they wanted him last year.
Outside of Randle and Barrett, the Knicks do not really have any reliable scoring options, which is why trading for Devonte’ Graham makes a ton of sense. He is in the final year of his rookie contract and is owed just $1.6M, also making it very easy to acquire him salary wise.

The Knicks desperately need that third, reliable offensive weapon if they are to be a true playoff team in the East, which is exactly what Devonte’ Graham can be for them. He is a very unselfish player and having the ability to play off-the-ball allows the Knicks to play him at numerous positions and in numerous rotations.
New York ranks 19th in the league in three-point shooting and could really use another perimeter threat, which is why acquiring Devonte’ Graham makes a ton of sense. Getting a long-term commitment from him in exchange for a couple first-round picks could be exactly what the Knicks need.
