Why This Trade Would Benefit The Orlando Magic

The Orlando Magic fallen behind in the Eastern Conference. They are not completely buried given the fact that this is a top-heavy conference where there are many struggling teams outside of the top four. If they want to make any moves this season, they will have to do so in the trade market.

The Magic front office needs to decide what direction this team is going to take. Players like Evan Fournier and Aaron Gordon have been viewed as complementary pieces to Vucevic. Terrence Ross is also a threat on the offensive end of the floor and would remain in Orlando in this scenario.

If the Magic believes that the best move is to blow it up for a return, Nikola Vucevic being sent away would land the biggest one. Jonas Valanciunas is taking the next step this season and would replace in the frontcourt. The Magic would also land some draft capital in hopes of adding prospects.

It would be a bit of a surprise to see the Magic decide to move on from Nikola Vucevic, but nothing is impossible. He is 30-years-old and his value has never been higher so there is certainly some justification behind the idea of ‘selling high’ on him as a trade asset.
