Los Angeles Clippers Receive: G Kyle Lowry
Toronto Raptors Receive: G Patrick Beverley, F Marcus Morris Sr, F Mfiondu Kabengele, ATL 2022 2nd Round Pick, LAC 2022 2nd Round Pick, LAC 2027 1st Round Pick
Quite honestly, the Raptors can probably get a lot more value for Lowry from a lot of other teams other than the Clippers, but this is probably one of the best trades the Clippers can offer, especially if they add another second-round pick as well.
The Clippers only have one first-round pick through 2027 and while this pick is not too valuable right now, it is still a first-round pick. The only question about trading Kyle Lowry to the Clippers is who the Raptors would get back in return.
Instead of Patrick Beverley, the Raptors could want Lou Williams instead, making this trade scenario a little more complicated. In this scenario outlined above, the salaries match almost perfectly and both teams get what they need.
Los Angeles could really use an All-Star guard like Kyle Lowry and Toronto just needs more depth. As things stand right now with the Raptors, outside of Siakam, Lowry, VanVleet and Powell, this team does not have many options they can rely on. O.G. Anunoby and Chris Boucher have stepped up at times this year, but are still young players that are growing into key role players.

Toronto needs depth, which is what this trade gives them. Patrick Beverley could continue to be a great on-ball defender and Marcus Morris Sr. has been putting together a terrific offensive season. He is shooting 50.5% from three-point range this season and has been the Clippers third best offensive player at times.
While it may not be the best trade for the Raptors to make, they do have to make a decision on Lowry’s future. He is in the final year of his contract and getting something for him now could make a lot more sense than letting him sign somewhere else in free agency.
With that said, let’s take a closer look as to why this trade between the Toronto Raptors and the Los Angeles Clippers makes sense for both teams.
