Why This Trade Makes Sense For The Dallas Mavericks
The Mavericks desperately need that third, reliable offensive weapon, which is exactly what Terry Rozier can be for them. He is a very unselfish player and having the ability to play off-the-ball with Luka Doncic being the main facilitator on the court could prove to be very beneficial for the Mavs perimeter game.
Statistically speaking, Rozier is having his best year of his career shooting and scoring the basketball, which is why he is such a highly-coveted trade target for many teams around the league, If the Mavericks truly want Rozier, they will have to be willing to part with some key contributors and some draft picks as a result of his value being at an all-time high.
It makes total sense for Dallas to want and acquire a talented, young guard like Terry Rozier and given his winning mentality, he could be an extremely useful asset next to Luka and Porzingis.. The Mavericks are in a position to win now, but they need some more firepower to lean on outside of their two stars.

Jalen Brunson, Maxi Kleber and Dwight Powell are all solid players, but they cannot give the Mavs the firepower they need to make a deep playoff push. Terry Rozier can not only go for 20+ points a night with the Mavericks, but can be a key three-point threat for them, something they desperately need since they do not have Seth Curry anymore.
Dallas currently ranks 20th in the league in three-point shooting percentage and only has six players shooting above 35% from deep this season. Rozier is currently shooting 44.5% from beyond-the-arc and has solidified himself as one of the best perimeter oriented guards in the league this year.
Getting that third, reliable scoring option is exactly what this Dallas Mavericks team needs and by acquiring Terry Rozier, they could easily become one of the best teams in the Western Conference. With Luka Doncic playing like a true MVP, having two All-Star caliber players next to him suddenly has teams viewing Dallas a little differently than they did at the start of the year.
