4 ideal landing spots for DeMarcus Cousins to consider

Brooklyn Nets

Out of any team in the league, going to the Brooklyn Nets makes the most sense for DeMarcus Cousins because they are the favorites to win the NBA Finals this year. With Kevin Durant, James Harden and Kyrie Irving, there is virtually no stopping this team and they are one of the best offensive teams in NBA history.

Getting Harden cost the Nets a lot, including two key frontcourt players in Jarrett Allen and Taurean Prince, opening up plenty of minutes in Brooklyn’s frontcourt. Jeff Green and DeAndre Jordan have been handling things as the Nets’ “centers” but adding Cousins could give this team that other big body they need off-the-bench.

The addition of Cousins would not only give the Nets another true big man next to DeAndre Jordan, but an offensive-minded player who could be yet another weapon they utilize in their offense. Not to mention, he is still DeMarcus Cousins and teams will have to respect that, opening up the floor even more for the Nets’ superstars.

If Cousins wants to go to the team that presents him with the best possibility to win a championship, then he should sign with the Brooklyn Nets, not the Los Angeles Lakers. This team looks virtually impossible to stop when they are fully healthy and while he would be a bench player for them, Cousins would get plenty of playing time and make a difference for the Nets.

If he is willing to sign a minimum contract for the remainder of the season with Brooklyn, then I simply do not see any scenario in which Cousins does not sign with the Nets. Everything is lined up for him to go there and ultimately, if the Nets sign Cousins, it would just be a scenario of the rich getting richer.
