Boston Celtics
The Boston Celtics haven’t quite managed to take the next step in the Eastern Conference this season. They didn’t end up making any major additions to their roster in the offseason and ended up losing Gordon Hayward in NBA free agency.
With Hayward no longer a member of the team, the Celtics haven’t quite been able to thrive going with small ball lineups quite as they did in the past. Aaron Nesmith has shown some helpful signs as of late to help in this regard, but adding a big like Blake Griffin could help with lineup combos.
Blake Griffin would offer the Celtics skill and experience in the big man department. He’s shown to be a talented passer and can help create more of an in-and-out game for Boston when he’s involved in certain lineups. Small ball units with him at the five could excel.
If the Celtics added the talented Blake Griffin to the mix, they could boost their playoff stock as the season moves forward. The Celtics aren’t far off from being a legitimate title contender, but they’ll need to make a move like this one for that to be a possibility.
