Atlanta Hawks
The Atlanta Hawks are currently on the outskirts of a playoff run, but a mid-season addition like Blake Griffin could change the culture of the team. The Hawks need a frontcourt player to help them out and he could be their guy.
With De’Andre Hunter and Bogdan Bogdanovic sidelined for many weeks, the Hawks could benefit from adding another frontcourt option to slide over players like Danilo Gallinari over more to the three spot.
There seems to be the potential for an intriguing frontcourt balance for the Hawks. Clint Capela has thrived as a dirty work specialist but doesn’t offer much scoring beyond play finishing. Griffin could fill an important backup role as a small ball five to be a change-of-pace.
If the Hawks did end up trading John Collins, it wouldn’t be a bad idea to sign Griffin in free agency. He’s been mentioned in some NBA trade rumors but it doesn’t sound like Atlanta is actively shopping him. Either way, it’s something to at least consider.
