This Knicks-Lakers trade lands Kevin Knox in L.A.

After plenty of seasons in which their fans have suffered, there is a lot to be happy about this NBA season if you are a Knicks fan. Not only do you have a great head coach in Tom Thibodeau, but the young talent on this roster is playing really well together and have led the Knicks to being 14-16 at this point in the year. They will be a team to watch in NBA trade rumors as potential buyers.

If the season ended today, the New York Knicks would be a playoff team. When was the last time you heard someone say that? Well, the last time the Knicks were in the playoffs was in 2013 and since then, this organization has gone through 6 head coaches, plenty of players and plenty of requests for owner James Dolan to sell the team.

Unfortunately, he is still the owner, but let’s not talk about their ownership, let’s talk about the bright spot of this organization, the players! Julius Randle is having an All-Star, breakout season and has been absolutely fantastic. R.J. Barrett is continuing to grow into a great player and other young players like Elfrid Payton, Immanuel Quickley and Mitchell Robinson have been growing into better overall players.

The Knicks recently traded for former league MVP Derrick Rose, reuniting him with the Knicks and his former head coach in Tom Thibodeau. Since acquiring Rose, the Knicks are 3-2 and he has really helped them offensively.

Acquiring Derrick Rose was definitely a big boost to this team both on and off-the-court, but the Knicks are not done making moves just yet. They have been linked in NBA trade rumors as being interested in trading away Kevin Knox and they could actually get some decent value for him.

Knox just has not turned into the player the Knicks had hoped he would be and at 21-years old, there should be a handful of teams that would be interested in the young wing, the Lakers being one of them. Los Angeles does not have much young talent on their roster and could look to add a young player like Knox, who has a lot of potential to grow into a solid two-way player.

What would the Lakers have to give up in order to acquire Kevin Knox II? Let’s take a look at what a potential trade between the Knicks and Lakers could look like.
