This Cavs-Wizards trade is focused on Andre Drummond

After starting the NBA season strong, things have seemed to settle down for the Cleveland Cavaliers and they are ready to head in a new direction. This team definitely has one of the better young cores in the league with Collin Sexton, Darius Garland and rookie Isaac Okoro, but the additions of Jarrett Allen and Taurean Prince gives them even more young talent to work with!

The Cleveland Cavaliers found themselves as one of the four teams involved in the massive James Harden to Brooklyn trade and ended up with both Allen and Prince at the cost of a future first-round pick. Not only are both guys key impact players, but they have created a crowded frontcourt problem in Cleveland.

As a result, both Kevin Love and Andre Drummond have found themselves a part of numerous NBA trade rumors, but it seems more and more likely that Drummond could be dealt by the end of the month. He has decided to sit out of the remainder of the Cavs games until they find a new team to trade him to and as a result, the former All-Star center has received plenty of interest around the league.

As many as 12 teams have already reached out to Cleveland in attempts to gauge their interest for what they would like for Drummond, but no deals are imminent at this time. One of these twelve teams that is interested in Andre Drummond are the Washington Wizards.

After trading for Russell Westbrook in the offseason, there were a lot of expectations for this Wizards team with Russ and Bradley Beal in the backcourt together. However, this team has failed to live up to the expectations and find themselves as one of the worst teams in the league. They could desperately use some help in the frontcourt, especially with Thomas Bryant out for the year, which is why they could look to leverage a bunch of assets to acquire Drummond.

Obviously if they were to do this, they would need a long-term commitment from the 27-year old center, but it seems likely that the Wizards will make a big run at potentially trading for him. Now, let’s take a look at a possible trade between the Washington Wizards and the Cleveland Cavaliers involving Andre Drummond.
