Trade Scenario No. 1 — Orlando Magic

Sacramento Kings Receive: F Aaron Gordon, G Dwayne Bacon, C Mohamed Bamba, ORL 2022 1st Round Pick, ORL 2024 1st Round Pick

Orlando Magic Receive: G Buddy Hield, F Jabari Parker, LAL 2021 2nd Round Pick (via SAC)

Out of any trade the Kings could make, this trade with the Orlando Magic probably gives them the most established talent. Aaron Gordon has proven himself to be a reliable forward and Dwayne Bacon has emerged this year as an all-around weapon for the Magic.

This season, Bacon is averaging 10.7 points, 3.1 rebounds, 0.8 steals for the Magic and is shooting 37.3% from three-point range. Standing about 6’6”, Dwayne Bacon has the ability to play on the wing and can also be a reliable one-on-one defender against smaller guards in this league. He could definitely be one of the better bench players for Sacramento in their efforts to make a playoff push this season.

Aaron Gordon was drafted 4th overall by the Magic in 2014 and while he has not been the player they had hoped he would be, he is still a very consistent and reliable frontcourt threat. There was a lot of hype surrounding Aaron Gordon when he first entered the NBA and while he struggled early on in his career, Gordon has really turned himself into a solid third or fourth scoring option.

His outside shot is finally starting to improve and he has improved as a defender, but it does not seem like he is a guy the Magic feels comfortable investing a lot of money into for the future of the organization. With all the frontcourt options on the Kings roster, Gordon could not only provide them with more depth in their frontcourt, but he is also able to play on the wing, giving the Kings more size against smaller teams.

In this trade, the Sacramento Kings definitely get great value for Hield because they get two guys who can impact this team right away, a young center with a lot of potential to grow into a great shot-blocker, and two first-round picks they could utilize to continue stockpiling young talent.

No matter what the Kings decide to do with Hield, they are definitely in a good position as a franchise, they just need to add more talent. Trading away Buddy Hield would definitely give this team more role players and could be the deciding factor in them ending their playoff drought this season.
