LeBron James not ready to compare Nets’ Big 3 with Warriors dynasty

There aren’t many more people in the world that know a thing or two about Big 3’s in the NBA than Los Angeles Lakers superstar, LeBron James. He has been a part of Big 3’s and played against some as well.

The original Big 3 with the Boston Celtics, Kevin Garnett, Ray Allen and Paul Pierce, were a big reason James decided to take his talents to Miami and make his own with Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh. He made another with his return to the Cleveland Cavaliers, who had Kyrie Irving and added Kevin Love to the mix.

The LeBron James, Kyrie Irving and Kevin Love trio ran into one of the greatest collections of talents ever put together on an NBA roster in the Golden State Warriors. The Warriors’ original Big 3 of Steph Curry, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green became a Big 4 when Kevin Durant joined the team.

After winning two championships with the Warriors, Durant joined up with Irving on the Brooklyn Nets. Their first season in Brooklyn was a wash, but the newest Big 3 in the league now resides there. The Nets made a blockbuster deal earlier this season to land James Harden, putting together arguably the most talented offensive trio in NBA history.

There are plenty of people that have declared the Nets’ version of a Big 3 the best the NBA has seen. Not so fast, says LeBron James.

“Um, have we forgot about KD, Steph (Curry) and Klay (Thompson) already?” James said following the Lakers’ 112-104 win over the Minnesota Timberwolves on Tuesday night. “I mean, there you go. There you go right there.”

LeBron James will be facing off with the Nets tonight, albeit not at full strength. Kevin Durant is sidelined with an injury, but Kyrie Irving and James Harden will be in the lineup. Despite that, James is still excited about playing against the Nets.

“It’s always exciting for me to go against some of the best guys in the game — and they got three of them,” he said. “They got three of the best guys in the game. Definitely would love to be full when you’re playing against a team like that and see, like, at that point in the season, how you match up — how you match up against some of the best teams in the league. And, obviously, we won’t be full on Thursday. But, other than that, yeah, I love going out there and just being out on the floor with some of the best to play this game.”

The NBA is getting a marquee matchup as the Lakers are hosting the Nets on TNT. The Lakers will also be shorthanded, as Anthony Davis will be sidelined at least 2-3 with a calf strain.

Both teams aren’t at full strength, but it should be a great game nonetheless. This could easily be a preview of the NBA Finals come June and a game all fans should enjoy.
