Would This Trade Work For The New York Knicks?
In a vacuum, the New York Knicks would see a fair deal with this particular trade scenario. The larger question is in regards to whether or not the Knicks should in fact look to trade for a player with Andre Drummond’s skill-set. There certainly are valid concerns.
Do the Knicks already have enough at the five spot? Julius Randle has found success sliding over to the five spot in addition to already having Mitchell Robinson and Nerlens Noel on the roster. All three of those options appear better than making a big change to add Drummond.
There is also the question of whether this trade would create more problems than it would solve. Granted, Alec Burks has appeared in only 17 games due to injury, but both he and Reggie Bullock have been the Knicks’ highest-volume three-point shooters this season.
For a team that is already in need of adding more perimeter shooting, would moving on from two efficient shooters in favor of an oriented big man be the best option? Especially when considering Andre Drummond is very inefficient in the scoring department, that doesn’t appear to be the case.
