Would This Trade Work For The Dallas Mavericks?
Last season, the Dallas Mavericks took the NBA by storm by putting together an incredibly efficient half-court offense. The playmaking and scoring ability of Luka Doncic when coupled with Kristaps Pozringis’ stretch-big skill-set and a cast of sharpshooters went a long way.
The Mavericks have seemingly miscalculated in their approach by trying to focus on improving defensively. In doing so, trading away players like Seth Curry has simply made them mediocre on both ends. The defense isn’t good enough to make a difference and the offense has become one of the worst shooting units in the NBA.
It’s clear the Mavericks need to go out and add more catch-and-shoot threats to rectify the poor personnel decisions they made in the offseason. Players like Alec Burks and Reggie Bullock would go a long way in helping to improve their shooting capabilities.
Frank Ntilikina would also be included in this trade and he wouldn’t be needed beyond a salary cap filler. Anything he could provide would be a surprise as he hasn’t been able to find the court in more than four games this season for the New York Knicks.
