Ranking top 3 potential landing spots for Andre Drummond

Charlotte Hornets

The Charlotte Hornets seem like the early favorites to land Andre Drummond due to their ability to take over his cap hit and their obvious need at the center position. The Hornets currently sit seventh in the Western Conference and adding a domiant center like Andre Drummond could help propel them closer to the top spot.

The Hornets currently rotate Cody Zeller and Bismack Biyombo at the center position, but they are looking for a sure fire number one guy. Zeller does a lot of little things well but isn’t the dynamic enough threat to have him comfortably be a starting five.

Biyombo is better at defending than Cody Zeller but Zeller has a knack for finding the basket. If the Hornets traded for Andre Drummond, they would have a guy who could do both while also being a legitimate lob threat.

Adding Andre Drummond to the Hornets would give the Hornets some crazy big man depth and it would make them a very hard team to out rebound. Andre Drummond is the best rebounder in the NBA and his arrival in Charlotte would be felt from the jump.

For a team that is in a real position to make the playoff this season, the Hornets must capitalize on opportunities to improve their roster when they are presented to them. Signing Drummond would be one of the intriguing ways to be able to get that done.
