Why This Trade Would Benefit The Indiana Pacers
The Indiana Pacers are currently fifth in the Eastern Conference. This is a position they know well as they have been middle of the pack for a few years now. Victor Oladipo is now gone and there have been rumors swirling about the team looking to make another big move. If they want to turn some heads, Malcolm Brogdon could be that move.
Domantas Sabonis has turned into an All-Star caliber big man. It seems as though he is the lone untouchable in Indiana at the moment. The Lakers have some intriguing pieces that they would be able to send to Indiana. It begins with Dennis Schroder. He is set to make $15.5 million this season before becoming a free agent at the end of the season.
This means Indiana would get Malcolm Brogdon’s contract off the books and have the freedom to make a decision regarding Schroder. Talen Horton-Tucker is a player with a high ceiling in this league and could turn into a star in Indiana.
This trade would give the Pacers some more assets for the future. They have been unable too put together a team strong enough to win in the Eastern Conference so some moves could be made sooner than later.
