Why This Trade Would Benefit The Los Angeles Lakers

The Los Angeles Lakers knew that they needed to improve at the top of the offense. This is why they acquired Dennis Schroder from the OKC Thunder. The perimeter play in Los Angeles has had its inconsistencies and that is the area that is a bit less than perfect. Schroder has played well but Malcolm Brogdon could take the team to an even higher level.

Malcolm Brogdon has two more years on his contract after this campaign. For the player that they are getting, it would be a bargain for the Lakers. Brogdon is set to make $63 million over the next three years of his deal.

The Lakers recently extended players like LeBron James and Anthony Davis, along with Kyle Kuzma, and Malcolm Brogdon’s contract would not be an issue if added would bring an efficient player at the top of the offense that knows how to lead and play with other stars. Malcolm Brogdon can fill it up from deep or draw contact in the lane to get to the line, where he is basically automatic.

Schroder is good enough to help the Lakers come postseason time but Malcolm Brogdon could be that next-level guard that the team has been looking for. If the front office wants to continue to make splashes, this is one that would impact the team right away.
