The Atlanta Hawks have finished near the bottom of the standings in the league over the last couple of NBA seasons, but this year, they have a real shot at making it back to the playoffs for the first time since 2017. This young team led by Trae Young has a lot of scoring options, when fully healthy, and as a result, they find themselves 11-15 and very much in the playoff conversation.

Young has been fantastic for this team and is looking to make his second straight All-Star appearance this year, but they would not be as good as they are without fourth-year forward John Collins. The former 19th overall pick in 2017 has been getting better each and every year he has been in the NBA and has not slowed down his production.

John Collins is currently averaging 18.1 points, 7.8 rebounds, 1.0 blocks and is shooting 54.3% from the floor, 39.1% from three-point range. The 23-year old forward is the second-best player on this Hawks team, but could his future in Atlanta be up-in-the-air?

This past offseason, John Collins declined to agree to a $90M contract extension with the Hawks, leading to a bunch of rumors that he may be unsettled in Atlanta. With plenty of NBA trade rumors circulating around his future and the Hawks being an up-and-down team this season, could they look to move their young forward now while his value is at an all-time high?

The Boston Celtics are a team that has shown interest in Collins and could really use another reliable option in their frontcourt. Could the Celtics look to shock the NBA world and pull off a blockbuster trade to acquire the 23-year old forward? Let’s take a look at the best trade the Celtics could offer to acquire John Collins from the Hawks.
