This Celtics-Mavs trade forms a Kemba Walker, Luka Doncic duo

The Dallas Mavericks have one of the most exciting players in the league in Luka Doncic. He is an early-season NBA MVP candidate with 29.1 points, 8.6 rebounds, and 9.4 assists per game this season. The Mavericks have been linked to some big-name players at the NBA trade deadline in hopes of building a big three. The Boston Celtics could help right away.

At 13-15, the Mavericks could be in need of a shakeup. Kristaps Porzingis has returned from injury and is playing extremely well when he has been in there. Kristaps Porzingis is scoring 20.5 points and acting as the perfect complement to Luka Doncic.

After Luka Doncic and Kristaps Porzingis, the depth takes a huge step back. Dallas came into the season with playoff aspirations and have not looked like that team just yet. This is where a deal could come into play that would land them another star player to help take them to that level.

The Boston Celtics are well-equipped with star players and could have the perfect fit. Kemba Walker is in his second year in Boston and has been mentioned in NBA trade rumors basically since signing his contract.

This season, Kemba Walker has played just 12 games and is scoring 16.3 points per game. The Celtics are 13-13 this season and seek to be one of the top contenders in the Eastern Conference. Boston could look for some help in the frontcourt but this deal would shake up their guard position.

Walker going to Dallas would give them an improvement at the most important position on the floor. Let’s see how this deal might get done between the two sides.
